Refund Policy

CPI sells digital research products (reports and intelligence feeds), recurring memberships and live services (training and events). Because most of what we sell is delivered instantly or schedule-bound, our refund rules differ by product type. This Refund Policy explains when you are eligible for a refund, when you are not, and how to request one.
Refund eligibility by product
If CPI cancels or postpones
If we cancel an event, training cohort or scheduled briefing, you are entitled to a full refund or, at your option, a credit of equal value transferable to any future CPI offering within 12 months. Postponements are treated the same way: you may attend the rescheduled date or request a full refund.
Non-refundable items
- Reports that have been downloaded or substantively accessed (more than 25% of pages viewed).
- Intelligence-subscription periods more than 14 days into a renewed term.
- Memberships where a member-only benefit has already been redeemed.
- Training places cancelled less than 7 days before the start date (transfer only).
- Event tickets cancelled less than 7 days before the date (transfer to a colleague is still allowed up to 24 hours before).
- Bespoke / commissioned research or custom advisory work, once delivered.
- Bank-transfer fees, FX margins or third-party processor fees, where retained by the bank or TransactPay.
How to request a refund
To request a refund or cancellation, email info@petroinfong.org from the email address on your account, including:
- Your order or transaction reference (begins with CPI-).
- The product you wish to refund and the reason for the request.
- Your preferred outcome — refund, transfer, or replacement.
We aim to acknowledge requests within 2 business days and decide within 7 business days. Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method.
Refund timing and currency
- Refunds are issued in the original transaction currency — Naira purchases are refunded in NGN; USD purchases are refunded in USD. We do not bear FX or settlement losses arising from currency movements between the purchase date and refund date.
- Card refunds typically settle within 5–10 business days, depending on your issuing bank. NGN bank transfers settle within 1–3 business days. International wires can take up to 14 business days.
- Where required, refunds are processed in line with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s consumer-protection guidelines for electronic payments.
Chargebacks
Before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer, please contact us first — most disputes can be resolved within a day. Unjustified chargebacks may be contested with full transaction evidence and, where successful, recovery costs billed back to the cardholder.
Questions
Refund decisions made under this policy are final but do not affect any rights you may have under Nigerian consumer-protection law (FCCPA 2018) or any non-excludable rights under the law of your country of residence.
